Natural Beauty

She refused to wear green on St. Patrick's Day. She wanted pink, pink makes her feel pretty, it makes her feel like a princess. I hope she always feels like a princess. I hope she always knows in her heart that her hair was never too frizzy, her skin never too pale, and that her smile was always like the sun, I hope she never feels self-doubt or self-loathing. As her mama, I so desperately want to keep that inner voice of insecurity at bay. I hope my baby always sees her inner natural beauty.
